Please note: the abstract system and the registration system are two different entities. Abstract submission has now closed so you will no longer be able to log in to your account.

Registration categories

RMS/EMS Member Members of the Royal Microscopical Society or the European Microscopy Society may register at this rate

Academic Rate for delegates working within non-commercial organisations

Student Rate full time undergraduate and graduate students (proof of student status, in the form of educational establishment, supervisor name and supervisor email address, will be required)

Sunday 16th -

Registration, 1 pm - 8 pm

Plenary Lectures, 5.30 pm          

Drinks Reception for Conference Delegates, 7 pm - 8.30 pm

Monday 17th -

The first plenary lecture starts at 8.30 am.

Conference sessions

If you register for the conference before the programme has been scheduled, you will be asked to select which conference sessions you would like to attend at a later date.

Conference proceedings

Once the final programme has been released on 31 May 2012, it will be possible to purchase printed volumes of the conference proceedings at an additional cost of €25 per volume.  Registration for the full week of the conference includes a full electronic version of the Proceedings on a DVD.

Conference banquet

Registration for the full week of the conference entitles you to purchase a ticket to attend the conference banquet at the world famous Manchester United’s football ground, Old Trafford.  Your conference banquet ticket includes a drinks reception and tour of the Manchester United Museum, dinner and entertainment as well as transportation to and from the venue. Due to anticipated demand, it will not be possible for day-only delegates to attend the banquet.    

Pre-congress workshops

A number of Pre-Congress Workshops and a hands-on course will take place on Sunday 16th September, between 2 pm and 5 pm at Manchester Central.  There will be a token registration fee to contribute towards refreshments, and all participants will need to register to attend the Pre-Congress Workshops in advance.  Two satellite meetings will also take place at the University of Manchester from the 14th September.

Costs for workshops, courses and satellite meetings can be found on the Registration Fees webpage. Please note you can only register for one pre-congress workshop or the Sunday course.

Early booking discount

The reduced early booking rate will only be applied to bookings made on or before 30th June 2012.  Bookings after this date will automatically be at the Regular rate.  

Login

In order to register for the exhibition or conference, you first need to create a login.  Once you have completed the registration details for your login, you will be taken straight to the correspondence details page to proceed with your conference registration.  You will only need your login details if you wish to go back through the registration process to register further delegates.   

User name and password

When you have entered your login details, you will receive an email confirming your user name and password.

Your USER NAME is the email address that you used to log in.

Multiple registrations

You can only register one person at a time, even if you are registering on behalf of other people, the registration process needs to be started from the beginning for each delegate.  You can however use the same login details to register different delegates.  

Correspondence address

This address will be used for correspondence regarding the registration, and is not necessarily the delegate details, which may be different.

Choosing your attendance

If you are attending for more than one day, when you are selecting the days that you wish to attend then you need to select each day and add this individually before clicking next.  

Registration rate

Once you have selected which days you wish to attend the conference, please ensure that you select the correct rate that applies to you from the drop down option list for each day of the conference.  The correct discount will then be applied to your booking.

Invoice/billing address  

Automatic invoicing has been set up even if you are paying by credit card.  This will give you an invoice to act as a receipt for your booking, which you may need to pass to your finance department.  If you are paying by credit card then confirmation of the transaction will be sent to you separately.  

Accommodation

There is a variety of hotels within easy reach of the emc2012 venue, Manchester Central.
